Volunteer opportunities


For each of the volunteer items listed here, please indicate your interest, time schedule and ability to help with achieving the tasks outlined, and contact our Chairman of the MN GOP 54A House District about volunteering, and he will direct you to the appropriate committee chair person for arranging a reasonable and mutually agreeable specific time schedule and dates for you to perform the volunteer task.

There is a need for volunteers to help with the 'recount' of ballots for the Senate race with Coleman.

1. Participate in house to house literature drops.

2. Walk in my neighborhood with endorsed candidate.

3. Organize a portion of a literature drop.

4. Help identify Republican voters on my street, block or neighborhood.

5. Work as part of a telephone calling campaign or phone bank.

6. Organize a telephone calling campaign or phone bank.

7. Help with 'get out the vote' campaign [phone bank, email, postal letters, etc.]

8. Allow a candidate lawn sign on my property.

9. Help organize a lawn sign distribution on a weekday or weekend.

10. Physically place [or distribute] the lawn signs for a candidate.

11. Participate in community parades [St. Anthony or Roseville or Lauderdale].

12. Sign a letter to the editor that someone else can sign.

13. Write a letter to the editor that I myself sign.

14. Write campaign letters for postal mail distribution or distribution via email.

15. Write position papers for a candidate.

16. Write campaign literature.

17. Design campaign literature [with graphic design tools].

18. Research the incumbent representative's public voting record and identify campaign issues.

19. Make presentations at civic groups, church groups, and at other activist groups for a candidate or for our Republican party.

20. Work on a campaign committee.

21. Be a volunteer chairperson on the resolutions committee for our 54A Convention.

22. Be a volunteer committee member to serve on the resolutions committee for our 54A Convention.

23. Donate money to an endorsed candidate's campaign.

24. Host a fundraising get-together [party] for our 54A BPOU or for our 54A candidate.

25. Work as part of a committee for a fundraising phone bank.

26. Help organize a fundraising phone bank.

27. Write a fundraising letter to a specific group.

28. Help organize our 54A Convention in March 2008.

29. Help organize letters and email, expressing citizen concerns and questions to the incumbent 54A representative in the MN legislature during the next legislative session at the beginning of 2008.

30. Work on the 54A BPOU contact info database entering data and maintaining lists of Republican voters.

31. Design / redesign our 54A web pages.

32. Host our 54A web site.

33. Help distribute 54A communications, by use of postal mail and printed copies of emails, to those who don't have email.

34. Help teach, mentor, educate others in the use of computers, browsers and email.

35. Volunteer to be an 'election judge'.

36.  Work with our Vice-Chair for Party Building to attract more volunteers and activists for our Republican party.

37. Work with our 54A BPOU to build a database of information about the incumbent representative to the MN Legislature so that election issues can be identified.

38.  Pray for our conservative Republican mission, goals and work,
and to support our motto: Pray and Vote ... Vote and Pray.

39. Support our 54A Republican mission: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness through knowing the truth about God, about ourselves and about our country.

40.  Support our 54A Republican goal: Elect a Republican candidate to serve as the next MN Representative for 54A to the MN House.

41.  Support our 54A Republican BPOU work: [more details coming soon].

42.  Be willing to be a "convener" for one of our 54A precinct caucuses.

43. Be willing to read and learn the training information about convening our 54A precinct caucuses.

43.  Be willing to be a "poll challenger" at the voting places on Nov. 4, 2008. [Training is required.]

44.  Be willing to be a a 'voucher' for another voter. [Training is required.] {Note: We need to watch for vouching fraud as this is likely the most blatant and abused form of voter fraud - so we need trained poll challengers to help prevent this type of fraud.}

45.  Be willing to read, study and know the voting laws on election day.  [Training to be provided.]

46. Be willing to suggest a candidate for our 54A House District to serve as our representative for 54A to the MN House - Legislature.

47.  Be willing to be one of the possible candidates to be evaluated by our 54A BPOU search committee to serve as our candidate.

48.  Be willing to put together a 'package of services' to help our 54A Republican candidate with their campaign.

49.  Be willing to help develop a 54A House District profile using geographical, historical, demographic information.

50. Help do a 'precinct analysis' of our 54A precincts.

51.  Help organize and set up our 54A BPOU endorsing convention.

52.  Other volunteer work that  you suggest.

    Due to the geographical boundaries of the 54a District being as they are,

    Minnesota House District 54a includes:
 (1) St. Anthony [in Hennepin County] Precincts #1, and #2;
  (2) Roseville Precincts #1, #2, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, and #10; and
  (3) Lauderdale.

    Note: St. Anthony [in Ramsey County] Precinct #1 caucuses with a different district, 50A,  north of that part of St. Anthony which is in Hennepin County; i.e., north of 37th Ave., NE..

    Note: Roseville - precincts #3 and #4 caucuses with a different district, District 54B.

Note: The 5th CD includes that part of St. Anthony which is in Hennepin County [south of 37th Ave.].
